This particular path is something that I originally developed in the Gi utilizing sleeve control and eventually found ways to convert it so I could use it in my no gi game. Finding different ways to trap my opponents arm behind there back started as a child while my older brother (national champion wrestler) used to do it to me in our basement wrestling matches growing up. Once the arm is trapped you, you are helpless. Once you learn how to capitalize and steer your opponent down one of the three paths we go over in this series. You will be finding yourself getting the submission and people asking you how you learned how to do it. It doesn’t matter if you end up with the: Triangle, One handed RNC, or the Twister you can’t go wrong with this series.
What you’ll get:
Triangle Choke
-A triangle choke, or sankaku-jime (三角絞) in judo, is a type of figure-four chokehold that encircles the opponent’s neck and one arm with the legs in a configuration similar to the shape of a triangle. Applying pressure using both legs and the opponent’s own shoulder, the technique is a type of lateral vascular restraint that constricts the blood flow from the carotid arteries to the brain, potentially resulting in loss of consciousness in seconds when applied correctly. Recent studies have shown that the triangle choke takes an average of 9.5 seconds to render an opponent unconscious when from the moment it is properly applied.[1]
Rear Naked Choke
-The rear naked choke (RNC) is a chokehold in martial arts applied from an opponent’s back. The word “naked” in this context suggests that, unlike other strangulation techniques found in Jujutsu/Judo, this hold does not require the use of a keikogi (“gi”) or training uniform.
-The BJJ twister is a rotational spine crank submission. It involves forcing the opponent’s head towards one of their shoulders while twisting the lower body to the opposite side. Technically speaking, the submission with the BJJ twister is due to lateral hyper-flexion of the cervical spine.
